Gutter Guard Pricing in 2026: What the Big Brands Charge and Why

8 min readPublished August 23, 20263 cited sources

Branded micro-mesh systems run $35-$40 per linear foot installed. Independent installers quote $15-$22 for comparable mesh. Here is where the gap comes from.

Ranges only mean something once the project is scoped

Answer nine questions about your home — footage, stories, pitch, material, protection type, access and timing — and the estimator turns these benchmarks into a range for your house, with each line item's source attached.

The number you will be quoted

A branded in-home sales appointment for micro-mesh gutter protection in the Fargo-Moorhead metro lands between $35 and $40 per linear foot installed, before the "sign tonight" discount. A 180-foot house is therefore pitched at $6,300-$7,200.

The number an independent installer quotes

Local installers putting up stainless micro-mesh of comparable mesh count quote $15 to $22 per linear foot installed. The same 180-foot house is $2,700-$3,960.

Where the difference actually goes

  • Lead acquisition. National brands buy leads and run television and mailer campaigns. That cost is inside your per-foot price.
  • Commissioned in-home sales. A multi-hour appointment with a commissioned closer is expensive to staff.
  • Lifetime transferable warranty reserve. Real money is set aside for it, and it is worth something, but it is not free.
  • Product differences. Some of the gap is genuine: surgical-grade mesh, heavier hangers, uPVC frames.

What to do with this

Get one branded quote so you can see the warranty terms, then get two local quotes at the same mesh specification. Ask each installer for the mesh micron rating, frame material, and hanger spacing in writing. If the specification matches and the price is double, you are paying for marketing.

What to be careful about

Cheap perforated aluminum screens and foam inserts are not the same product. They are $4-$8 per foot for a reason, and in a Red River Valley winter they trap ice.
